Leadership And Behavioural Change Expert

Leadership And Behavioural Change Expert

Why Me - People engage me because they want straight talking, real insight into human behaviour and work that actually shifts how people show up. I bring more than inspiration - I bring clarity, challenge and depth shaped by more than 25 years working in human resources, learning, organisational development and business ownership.

I’m known for cutting through noise, naming what others avoid, and helping people take responsibility for the impact they have. My work focuses on agency, courage and self-awareness - not blame, not fads and not surface-level change. I can work comfortably with any audience, at any level, because the work is human first and grounded in real experience.

BETTER HUMANS,

BETTER BUSINESS FLAGSHIP KEYNOTE

Who it’s for
Leaders, teams, business owners and organisations who want better outcomes through better humans.

What it’s really about
This keynote explores the idea that most outcomes at work and in life are shaped by everyday human choices. It looks at self-awareness, courage and responsibility as the foundations of how people show up - and how those choices shape confidence, relationships, leadership and results. Rather than focusing on systems, strategy or capability, this session focuses on the human behaviours that drive everything else. It challenges the idea that culture, performance or change sit somewhere “out there”, and brings the focus back to how people show up every day.

What changes for the audience
People leave with a clearer understanding of their own agency, a heightened awareness of their impact on others, and a stronger sense of responsibility for how they show up in moments that matter. The shift is from waiting for change to recognising that better humans create better business.

Making Respect Real - respect & inclusion keynote

Who it’s for
Organisations, leaders and teams who want to move beyond policy, compliance and good intentions to create real behavioural change around respect and inclusion.

What it’s really about
This keynote makes clear that respect is not abstract, theoretical or owned by HR - it’s created (or eroded) through everyday behaviour. The session focuses on standards, accountability, bystander behaviour and the cost of avoidance. It explores what people tolerate, what goes unchallenged, and how silence and inaction shape culture just as much as overt behaviour. Respect is reframed as a shared human responsibility, not an organisational initiative.

What changes for the audience
People become more conscious of the role they play in creating respectful environments - through what they say, what they ignore and what they allow to continue. The conversation shifts from compliance to ownership, with clearer standards and greater confidence to act when behaviour doesn’t align.

Leadership That Actually Matters - The Sophisticated Leader

Who it’s for
Leaders at all levels who shape how people feel, behave and perform every day, simply by being in the role

What it’s really about
This keynote reframes leadership as a privilege, not a title, rank or status. It makes clear that leadership is about responsibility and impact – the impact leaders have on how people feel, how they show up, and whether they give their best or withdraw. It explores how leaders shape good days and bad days, whether people love or resent their role, and how work shows up at home. The session is direct about the reality that people don’t leave organisations, they leave leaders, and that it’s not acceptable to be a poor leader. Leadership is shown as a daily, human responsibility, created through how leaders behave, the standards they hold, the conversations they have or avoid, and the environments they create for people to perform, contribute and grow.

What changes for the audience
Leaders leave with a heightened awareness of the responsibility they carry and the impact they have on people every day. They become more deliberate about how they show up, the standards they hold, and the environments they create, recognising that leadership shapes how people feel, perform and engage – at work and beyond.

It Starts With You – behaviour and self-leadership keynote

Who it’s for
Individuals and teams who influence what happens around them through their behaviour, regardless of role or intent.

What it’s really about
This keynote is about agency and self-leadership through behaviour. It focuses on how individuals and teams shape outcomes every day through how they show up, respond and engage – often without realising it. The session focuses on self-awareness and emotional intelligence – how words, behaviour and emotional energy influence others. It helps people see the impact they have in everyday interactions and understand how their presence, reactions and responses shape what happens around them.

What changes for the audience
People leave more aware of the impact of their behaviour and the role they play in shaping conversations, relationships and outcomes. There is a shift from reacting on autopilot to being more deliberate about how they show up, with a stronger sense of ownership over their choices and responsibility for the impact they have on others.

Courage Over Confidence - women-focused keynote

Who it’s for
Women at any stage of their career who want to show up more fully at work and in life.

What it’s really about
This keynote reframes confidence as something built through action, not something you wait to feel. Drawing on lived experience rather than theory, it explores how hesitation, self-doubt and playing small show up — often subtly — and how courage, not confidence, is what actually changes trajectories. The focus is on agency, self-belief and evolving how women show up, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain.

What changes for the audience
Women leave more willing to back themselves, speak up, take risks and act without waiting to feel “ready”. The shift is from self-doubt to self-trust built through action.

Progress, Not Perfection - action & evolution keynote

Who it’s for
Individuals, business owners and teams who want to move forward, take action and make things happen rather than waiting for certainty or the perfect plan.

What it’s really about
This keynote is about rejecting victimhood and choosing progress. It challenges the idea that people need confidence, clarity or perfect conditions before they act, and calls out how overthinking and perfection quietly keep people static. The focus is on taking responsibility for forward movement – setting direction, making decisions and having a go – even when the path isn’t fully mapped out. Progress is positioned as a deliberate choice, built through action.

What changes for the audience
People leave with a clearer sense of direction and a stronger willingness to act. The shift is from waiting and over-analysing to making decisions, taking the next step and building momentum through action.

TESTIMONIALS

What others are saying

"She’s someone who truly makes a difference"

"When it comes to her skills, there’s a magic to her facilitation. The way she engages with her audience and delivers content elevates the material to a whole new level - it’s almost like one plus one equals five. Honestly, she’s one of the best facilitators I’ve ever experienced. Her technical skill and ability to genuinely engage her audience are unmatched. That’s the separator for me." - Ben Brookman, Chief People Officer, Insurance House

"If you’re looking for someone who can truly make an impact, she’s the person you need."

"From the moment she introduced herself, I had one of those career ‘girl crush’ moments. She exuded confidence, but in such an approachable and down-to-earth way. Vanessa instantly made everyone in the room, myself included, feel so comfortable - especially when it came to building our presentation skills. I honestly don’t think I would be the facilitator I am today without her and that program." - Nancy Fedele, Head of People and Culture, Cranky Health

"Her work speaks for itself, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled, adaptable, and engaging trainer."

"Vanessa’s unique skill is her versatility. She can move seamlessly from engaging with a team on a construction site to being in the boardroom with executives, adjusting her messaging and delivery to suit each audience perfectly. She doesn’t just follow a fixed format or deliver canned material; she understands the room and adapts her approach based on the needs of the group." - Peter Cowan, CEO, PayPal Australia

"How does she do it? Vanessa’s intelligence is undeniable, but she conveys it in such an approachable way."

Vanessa’s greatest strengths are her intelligence, authenticity, and her ability to get people to truly buy into what she’s saying. I’ve seen her convert ‘resistors’ - people who walk into a session skeptical and ready to dismiss it - into believers. By the end of the session, she has everyone engaged. It’s almost like she has this magnetic ability to change mindsets, and it’s something I’ve never seen before." - Kate Reddaway, People and Culture Director, Rail First

ABOUT

VANESSA

PANAYI

I’m Vanessa Panayi - a keynote speaker, facilitator and author focused on how humans think, choose and act in moments that matter. I’ve spent my career inside organisations, alongside leaders, and building my own business, developing deep expertise in human behaviour and how it shapes confidence, relationships and outcomes.

An early experience working for a boss who was technically capable but poor with people shaped my standards and my work. It showed me, first-hand, that how one person shows up affects everyone around them. That understanding sits at the core of Better Humans, Better Business — the belief that when humans evolve how they show up, better business follows.
